Coms During a Social Media black out or glitch

The Global skype outage got me thinking..... its an easy thing for the big communications platforms to be taken down, or have a "glitch" all of sudden- especially when/if things are hot. If skype is down, there is facebook or twitter etc..., but what if they are all down?  How do you communicate with groups and friends to get information out?

In the case of a black out or "glitch" on social media sites, alternatives for getting in touch with Lisa Harrison or I (if there is internet) is to go to Lisas chat on her website:

http://www.lisamharrison.com/watch-live/

and if the major social media outlets go down, I will open the comments section on Removing the Shackles again so that we can use that platform for communications as well.

Ive posted this on Facebook in several groups, asking for input on options etc....  I will edit them in here as they are posted.

.... ps: as Skype has seriously been a fuckin disaster lately, Ive sorta moved over to Facebook (again *sigh) for much of my communications.  my facebook is:  dani arnold mckenny

A personal call out

Well my friends, I hate making this sort of a call out, but unfortunately it has become necessary.

As you know, Nick and I have started our own business- Our Gaias Gardens.  We borrowed some money from a good friend of ours to start the process, and have basically funneled every penny we have into the start up to get Our Gaias Gardens up and running.  Weve sourced all the basics- bottles, ingredients,  labels, packaging and spent a huge amount of time preparing and testing and getting everything ready to roll out....

And now were ready.... except weve come to a grinding halt, due to finances.

Another good friend, knowing that I have been severely suffering from a back case of computeritis, has sent me a computer - second hand and refurbished, with all the software I need- and after almost 4 weeks (so much for "3-5 business days"  DHL Shipping), weve been told its ready to be delivered..... but we have to pay 175 EUROS  to get it released!!!!

We have a young man here who lost his job, that Nick and I have sort of taken under our wing and have been helping - he speaks excellent english and is helping us with translating from Moroccan/Berber/Spanish/French to English for us.  Hopefully, he can help us "negotiate" with Customs....

In the mean time, I need to put a call out to ask for some financial help this month. We dont have 175 Euros to pay Customs... we dont even have 50 Euros to get us through the next few weeks. If you can help, even a couple of dollars is HUGELY appreciated.

I am putting together a product information package with all our back ground info and pricing on the current products (and an outline of the next products we will be launching), for Distributors and/or Wholesale/Retailers.  We are looking for investors to become distributors as the biggest cost factor right now is shipping individual bottles etc, to online retail customers, so we are working towards having Distributors in various countries, so that the shipping - to individual, retail and wholesale customers- is handled locally.

Weve received rave reviews of our products from everyone whos used them so far.  I have been sending samples and bonuses to customers who order our Argan Oil, to have them test some of our latest products.  I will be putting up a reviews page on OGG in the next day or so!  Sticking to my unwavering belief in producing completely natural, uncorrupted, skin care products, using only truly PURE  plant essences and oils, has been a very difficult path, but one that I will NOT take any shortcuts on.   Beyond beautiful skin, I will be launching several of my healing products very very soon as well.  I have given out my recipe for "Morgellions" treatments to many people, and will publish it on OGG for those who wish to make it themselves, but I will also be making them available through Gaias Gardens (and I will be delving into the "Morgellions" issue very soon as there is MUCH coming to light about this all encompassing "disease" that is disinformation and outright misdirection!).  I will also be launching my "Mommys Mergencies" line of healing balms that I have created over the years for my own childrens booboos, burns, bites, and bumps!!

Our Gaias Gardens is a culmination of over a decade of dreams coming into reality.  Birthing it has been a LONG and arduous journey (with many tantrums and meltdowns along the way! lol).  We are sooooo close......

If you are interested in becoming a Distributor/Investor/Wholesaler of Our Gaias Gardens Products, please contact me on skype:  d.breakingthesilence   or facebook:  dani arnold mckenny

As I said, Ill be doing a big launch (hopefully this week!) with all the Distributor pricing and product information.

Casual weekend planing out the patch

Getting ready for Spring...

Its that time again when we start deciding which winter plants are ready to cull, which beds need a good feed & which if any need to be moved or removed... If we dont make a start now we will be behind the 8 ball for the Spring plantings...
This is a rough plan of what we would like to have done by the end of Spring... There are a few more beds I would like to add in the next few months but they will have to wait until the Aquaponics system has been set up.... Have also started to look out for plans to make a Black Solider Fly farm to grow some more food for the Fish & Yabbies to make it easier on the wallet & healthier for them...

Decided to start with the Brussels Sprout barrel as it just wasnt preforming very well... Have also made a tentative start on the IBC Aquaponic system... Well,  moved the pavers, levelled off some soil & pondered the layout over an ale with B?...
Will be laying off the fish feed for a day or so to see what happens to the levels...

Also cut up a few barrels to turn into Wicking barrels but really didnt accomplish as much as I wanted but thats always the way... Such is...

Harvest Shots...
The Swiss Brown Mushrooms have been a tad slow in producing so I am hoping that moving them into a warmer spot might aid in better growth... Have only gotten 300 or so grams in the past 2 weeks...
I might try a method I read about in the Simple Savings forum where you grow your own using chopped up "ripe" Mushies that are dropping their spores to start up another farm... Always up for playing around...
We harvested the last of the Dragon Carrots from Bed #1.. They will be vacuum sealed & frozen.. The lemons are being picked every few days & many a Lemony treat has been made for home & B?s work in the past couple of weeks.. Always nice to share with work mates & family... The Sugarsnap Peas are starting to get woody & are not as sweet as the past few harvests so 1 lot was pulled & the second has been left after getting a good feed with Fish, Seaweed & Rock dust fertilisers to see if we can pick them up a bit... A large handful of baby Spuds was taken from a bag

We also got our first bug/maggot free Capsicum!!!!! **DOES BIG HAPPY DANCE**   It will go well in a roast Lamb & Quinoa salad me thinks... The Cape Gooseberries are slowing down a bit... We are getting 5-10 every few days so its a race down to the patch to see who can gobble them first at the moment...
Feel free to ask questions or offer advice...
Have a great one all...

Planting out vernalised garlic Tips for the subtropics warmer areas

Am trying out a few different methods of growing garlic this season to see if I can improve on previous years crops.. The garlic being used has been saved from the past two years crops..  As we are in the sub tropics & dont get the chill that other areas get to help kick their garlic off I decided to vernalise (chill) the majority of our seed garlic..

Am glad I decided to as they are already out preforming the traditionally planted cloves... Think that this will be my preferred method of preparing seed garlic from now on..
Most have gone into the soil, some into the aquaponics & the rest weree planted into the straw bale bed out the front...

For more regular updates & pictures from the patch come visit us on our Bits Out the Back Facebook page..
Have a great one All...
